This is determined by calculating the skier days that have taken place throughout the winter season, and for 2007-2008 it was recorded at 4 258 900. It is the fifth year in a row that Utah has had a record breaking season, and it is hoped that the number of skier days will increase in years to come.

2009 International Ski Federation World Cup

Five of America’s most prestigious ski resorts will be hosting International Ski Federation World Cup events during the 2008/2009 winter sport season. These world-class snow skiing and snowboarding competition venues were approved by the International Ski Federation (FIS) Congress during its recent meetings held in Cape Town, South Africa.

SnOasis Resort in the Works

Ipswich will soon become home to a three hundred and sixty acre ski resort that has been given approval for development and will be known as the SnOasis. Construction is to start within the year and completion of this state of the art facility is estimated for 2011. This ambitious task is the vision of the real estate group First Equity Group. SnOasis will not only consist of winter sport facilities, but is also a residential, commercial and leisure development.
