Colorado Ski Resorts: Ruby Hill Rail Yard
On 10 January 2007, the Winter Park Resorts, together with Denver Parks and Recreation, opened their latest project to the public. Ruby Hill Rail Yard is an urban rail yard that features six rails, each configured differently to accommodate novice to advanced rail riders. This exciting new snowboard activity was created for the youth, to be able to enjoy themselves in a safe environment.

Cross-country Skiing in Antarctica
Antarctica was long considered the “final frontier” for Alpine and Nordic skiers. In a sense this is somewhat ironic, as all of the early Antarctic explorers including Amundsen and Scott traveled on skis. Certainly snow is not a problem when one thinks of Antarctica - it’s getting there that’s been the hold-up. No longer, though, thanks to a company called Adventure Network International. Established in 1985, Salt Lake City, Utah based ANI opened up the Southern Continent to recreational tourism by providing a safe and reliable air travel and ground support network to satisfy the needs of their customers.

Ski Mont Gabriel Gears Up
The Freestyle FIS World Cup competition at Ski Mont Gabriel is about two months away and efforts are on at full steam to transform the sites, mobilize funding and volunteers as well as fine-tune the programming of the events. The resort facilities are being upgraded to meet the specifications of the International Ski Federation with an investment of a half-million dollars. The snow skiing resort has a five-year agreement with the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association and the upgrade was a part of the conditions.

Snow Skiing Begins!
Ski vacation resorts all over the US are opening for the 2006-2007 season! While many are scheduled to open this Thanksgiving Day weekend, some have already done so. Boreal Mountain Resort opened with attractive discounts on its Opening Day for the forthcoming ski and snowboard season on Tuesday, November 14 2006.
