The 19th Annual Bach Festival at Cranmore Mountain Resort
Each year, music enthusiasts gather in North Conway, New Hampshire, to enjoy the masterful works of Bach, presented by the well-known White Mountain Musical Arts. Since 2006, the Annual Bach Festival has been chiefly hosted at the Cranmore Mountain Resort at the 10th Mountain Pavilion. Terje Håkonsen Sets New World Record
A new world record was set at The Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo recently. World-renowned snowboarding champion Terje Håkonsen surpassed the previous record for highest air on a quarter pipe. Heikke Sorsa set the world record of 9.3 meters back in 2001, but Terje Håkonsen went on to perform a backside 360 at 9.8 meters. A remarkable feat indeed. After such a fantastic maneuver, there is no doubt as to why Håkonsen is called the greatest snowboarder ever.

Jeep King of Mountain Skiing and Snowboarding
The most prestigious professional skiing and snowboarding event, the Jeep King of the Mountain Series has the biggest prize money this season and will unfold at the country’s best ski vacation resorts. Prize purse of $450,000 includes an additional $20,000 in bonuses and a 2007 Jeep Patriot for the men’s and women’s skiing and snowboarding World Professional Champion.

Lake Louise as World Cup Venue
The Lake Louise Ski Area in the Canadian Rockies will host the world’s best Downhill and Super Galpine athletes at the World Cup ski racing 2006-07 speed events. The World Cup Series is the most important alpine skiing circuit sanctioned by the International Ski Federation (FIS). Snow conditions at Lake Louise have met the FIS standards to host the World Cup.

Rare Achievement does USA Proud
Thirty-five year old Kit DesLauriers has created history by skiing down from the summit of Mt Everest, the highest mountain in the world. Not only is she the first American and the first woman to succeed in her mission, her achievement in October 2006 of skiing down Seven Summits is a rare achievement. Kit DesLauriers has skied down from the summits of the highest peaks on all the continents, the first person to have ever done so.

Ski Tunnel Adds New Thrill at Ski Vacation Center in Sweden
A skiing vacation in Sweden now has an exciting new feature at the recreational area of Valberget, located 1.5 km outside of the town of Torsby in northern Varmland. Fortum Ski Tunnel Torsby, Sweden's first, and the worlds longest, ski tunnel opened this summer. The tunnel will be open for skiing from May to December which means there will be all year round skiing available at Valberget with the help of artificial snow machines being used in the tunnel. The tunnel is open for biathletes and cross country skiers. During winter training facilities will be available outdoors.

New Sponsor for Ski Utah Winter Vacation Resorts
The vacation ski resorts of Ski Utah will reopen from mid November to early December this year, depending on weather conditions. There are thirteen winter vacation resorts managed by Ski Utah and they promote the state's legendary ski experience with the byline 'The greatest snow on Earth'. Rossignol, the winter sports company under the Quiksilver, Inc. umbrella, has entered into a new sponsorship agreement with Ski Utah.
