A family winter vacation in Vermont means a vacation at Smuggler’s Notch Ski Resort. No other vacation resort can compare with the amenities offered here for kids of all ages. Guests can do their own thing without worrying about other members of the family. Nestled in the heart of Vermont’s Green Mountains, Smugglers’ Notch Resort is surrounded by more than 3,000 acres of pristine forest and spectacular mountain vistas.

The resort is set on three peaks and the terrain ranges from gentle cruisers for beginners to more advanced trails for intermediates and the East’s only triple black-diamond trail, The Black Hole, for expert skiers and snowboarders. Learners are safe just above the village on Morse Mountain. Madonna Mountain is home to some of the headiest expert terrain around and Sterling offers a mix of the two. The best part is that since the road from Stowe is closed in winter, the place is never crowded. One can even ski from Smuggs to Stowe.

The Snow Sport University at Smugglers’ Notch is an outstanding ski and snowboard school where you can train regardless of your ability or age. There are opportunities for more fun at SmuggsCentral with its indoor heated pool and hot tubs, outdoor natural ice skating rink, Cross-Country & Snowshoe Adventure Center and indoor playland, The FunZone Family Entertainment & Recreation Center provides music, fun and frolic including huge inflatable attractions. Race through the Obstacle Course, climb the Giant Slide, and romp in Smuggs Bouncy House. Play miniature golf, pool golf, shuffleboard or shoot hoops in the basketball corner. Smugglers’ Notch has an exclusive Teen center where parents are not allowed but teenagers can hang out with their peers for a fun time.

Freestyle skiers and riders can choose the terrain park of their level from the three thrilling parks. Morse has the Zone for beginners. You will find multiple hits, table tops, spines and rolls for intermediate and advanced freestyle skiers at Prohibition Park on Madonna Mountain. Birch Run Terrain Park at the base of Sterling Mountain is designed for entry and intermediate level skiers and riders.

Visitors can stay at comfortable, fully equipped condominium homes with mountain or woodland views, a short walk or on-demand shuttle ride to The Village Center for dining and shopping, or to other activities, lifts and trails.
