Recognizing this, Melco China Resorts has revealed plans for the development of a world-class ski resort, Sun Mountain Yabuli. Located about 2.5 hours by road, or 90 minutes by train, from the city of Harbin in the northern Heilongjiang Province of China, the four-season Sun Mountain Yabuli resort aims to be China’s first international-standard ski resort.

The city of Changchun in China will host its sixth Vasaloppet event from 30 December 2007 to 3 January 2008. This increasingly popular snow skiing event is based on Vasaloppet Sweden, the biggest ski event in the world with over 45,000 participants each year. Vasaloppet China started off in 2003 with about 750 participants and by the 2007 event 16,200 skiers were participating. Organizers anticipate that 2008 Vasaloppet China will be bigger than ever before.
