“Ski Patrol” – Reality Television Series

Millions of snow skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts enjoy the North American slopes each year, and while the majority enjoy an incident-free vacation, there are hundreds who encounter situations requiring the intervention of ski patrollers who are dedicated to the task of assisting others. It is these, often unsung, heroes who will be the subject of truTV’s new reality television series, “Ski Patrol”.

Upcoming Buttermilk Improvements

With its four magnificent peaks – Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk – Aspen Snowmass is a very popular snow skiing destination. Recent upgrades at the Snowmass Ski Area offer world-class skiing and snowboarding opportunities to the many snow sport enthusiasts that visit each year. In an ongoing effort to maintain high standards, Aspen Skiing Co. is seeking approvals to carry out improvements on Buttermilk’s skiing facilities, including a new Tiehack lift, as well as nearly doubling up on the current snowmaking capacity.

Snow Skiing – Ski Patrol

The Ski Patrol combines the functions of the police, emergency workers, mountain guides and search & rescue teams for the purpose of establishing as safe an environment as possible for recreational skiers. Skiing can be a dangerous activity if rules and regulations are not followed to the letter, and even if a skier does follow the rules they may suddenly become mired in a situation that is beyond their control, resulting in injuries that can be life threatening. As well, the cold and often isolated conditions where skiers can meet up with misadventure can turn mild injuries into potentially fatal ones very quickly.
