An exciting new winter festival is coming to Canada in the form of the 1st Calgary SnowFest. The event will feature The Southern Alberta Ski & Board Swap, 100 booths related to skiing, boarding travel and retail, The Ski Pass Junction, Sneak-a-Peak Friday movie premiere, Big Air Demos, Extreme Sled Tricks, contests, athlete appearances, prizes, and more.
The Canyons is known as Utah’s largest ski resort and will be celebrating opening day on Friday, 25 November 2011. This ski resort boasts nine mountain peaks, five bowls, six natural halfpipes, one terrain park and 4,000 acres of skiable terrain, with 182 trails.
The FIS World Cup will kick off with the Women’s Giant Slalom on 22 October 2011, followed by the Men’s even on 23 October 2011. Running in conjunction with these fantastic events is the Worldcup “Oktoberfest”. Fans of Ski Racing will want to tune in for these exciting giant slalom events, featuring top skiers from around the world.
The 21st Annual Columbus Day Ski & Snowboard Sale & Swap at Wachusett Mountain will see people bringing their used gear to sell, as well as buying new equipment. This is a convenient way for skiers and boarders to upgarde their equipment for the next season. Saturday will also feature the Fun in the Sun Rail Jam, with great cash prizes. Visitors can also enjoy the Scenic Summit SkyRide and Mountainside BBQ.
The Capital Rail Jam is a preseason event at Mad River Mountain, first introduced in 2010. Those attending the event can look forward to The Ark Band, a snow apparel fashion show, movie premiers for TB20 (Standard Films) and After Dark (Level 1), and of course an awesome rail set.
