University of Colorado Host 2010 Skiing Championship
Steamboat Springs is a small city in Routt County, Colorado. Although it is surrounded by magnificent landscapes and picturesque natural wonders to marvel at, Steamboat Springs is mostly known as one of the best skiing destinations in the world. Steamboat Mountain Resort, located on Mount Werner high up in the Colorado Rockies, is the main attraction to this quaint city and in 2010 it will once again welcome hundreds of athletes and spectators to is spectacular slopes for the 2010 Men’s and Women’s Skiing Championships.
The Canyons Resort in Utah under New Ownership
American Skiing Co. was at one time a prominent player in the snow skiing world, with holding interests in numerous ski resorts. However, the company will be dissolved following the sale of its final resort, The Canyons Resort near Salt Lake City. A subsidiary of the Toronto-based ski resort operator Talisker Corp, has reportedly paid an amount of R123 million to take over ownership of The Canyons Resort.
