Also this summer, Whitetail Resort will be adding a brand new beginner terrain park. This terrain park will be located on the Snow Park trail where the former half pipe was located. This new area will be a great spot for beginners to be introduced to freestyle skiing and riding. This new terrain park will replace the previous beginner park – ParkPlace 101, which was located on the Stalker trail.

Having been to Grindelwald often while on holiday ,my wife and I love the snow sculptures in January.Unfortunately we missed this year and would like to know the result and pictures if possible, also the date for Jan 2011 event so we can book ahead.

I like skiing in Christmas. For a great family ski holiday try during Christmas time as this is the only time of the winter when school holidays coincide with low season prices, usually the snow is good and the slopes are always empty.

This is good stuff accept I dont understand the “Never place the iron directly on the base of skis”. I think I know where you are coming from but may throw some newbies off. Its safe to place the iron on once wax is applied on, dont hold it in one spot but keep the iron moving and make the wax nice and flat on the base, dont forget to get most of your tips (at least half way up) as they are the first things to glide on the snow. A good way i fond about scraping is keep going until the wax starts coming off pretty fin, if you dont take enough off dont worry, after a run on the snow they will be slow but will speed up at the skis are ridden. Sharpen your edges wile you are at it and you should have some fast, well carving ski’s.

Bretton Woods is a great place to ski both nordic and alpine. The Mt Washington hotel is historic and gracious, but also expensive. If your budget needs an alternative try the Jefferson Inn (www.jeffersoninn.com). A beautiful B&B only 25 minutes away. It also has access to snowmobile trails if you want to try something different.
