Las Lenas Offers Some of the Best Skiing in Argentina

This popular ski resort, located in Argentina’s Mendoza province is one of the newer resorts in the country. Built in 1983, Las Lenas is about forty-four miles from the town of Malargue and boasts of over five hundred and sixty acres of ski terrain covered with great quality snow. Whatever your skiing skills you are sure to find runs to suit you in the Las Lenas Valley. The twenty-nine pistes are accessed by sixteen lifts, the most modern lift system in South America.

Skiing is guaranteed here during season as modern snow cannons enhance the snow even in poor weather conditions. The skiing season at Las Lenas runs from mid-June to mid-September. Beginners, intermediate, advanced and expert skiers will find runs of their levels here and the longest run is four miles. Las Lenas is the off-piste skier’s delight with a massive area to explore. There are thirteen hotels to suit all ranges of budgets at Las Lenas with additional accommodation available at Los Molles. Have a flutter at the world’s highest elevation casino located in the luxurious Pisces Hotel which also boasts of a choice of restaurants, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. There are several great ski-in, ski-out hotels here and one of the most popular hotels is Escorpio.

Excellent ski vacation packages that include a 90-minute charter flight between Las Lenas Ski Resort and Buenos Aires are typically booked from Saturday to Saturday. The flights land at the Malargue airport and one then takes a 45 minute drive to Las Lenas Ski Resort.
