A vacation in Le Grand-Bornand is a journey back in time into seventeenth century France. This lovely little town is located in the heart of the Aravis Mountain range in the Haute Savoie. Surrounded by Mont Blanc, Lake Annecy and Switzerland, Le Grand-Bornand reminds you of a picturesque ski vacation picture postcard you would send to family and friends back home.

Le Grand-Bornand Village is a typical Savoyard village built around a market square with its traditionally roofed market hall and shops. Further up on the road to Col de la Colombiere is the rest of the resort where most of the ski runs start. This is known as Le Grand-Bornand – Chinaillon and includes the remarkably well preserved 17th century Chinaillon.

You cannot hope for a more scenic vacation with fantastic skiing between forests of epicea firs and small mountain granaries. Le Grand-Bornand offers the Joyere sector which is ideal for beginners, the open spaces of Maroly and the more difficult steep black run of the Lachat. Perfect for downhill skiing, the slopes around Mont Lachat provide over 90 kilometers of ski-runs serviced by 37 ski lifts. The delightful downhill runs of the Col des Annes and the slopes of La Floria, Outalays and La Tolar are suitable for skiers of different levels.

Blessed with abundant snowfall and plenty of sunshine hours, the Grand-Bornand ski area, with its picturesque chalets and small mountain restaurants is the perfect skiing vacation destination. The Park du Grand-Bo on the top of the Maroly sector overlooks the ski area and offers spectacular views of the Aravis range. Thanks to plenty of good-quality snow, it remains open longer than the rest of the resort. The open valley with hours of sunshine is easily accessed by lifts.

The Evo Nordic Park is a circuit designed for cross-country skiing and is open to all. Take a chance with descents, turns, and bumps – under supervision! Le Grand-Bornand offer 62 km of varied and well-kept runs for cross-country skiing. The scenic Bouchet valley has routes along torrent and forest, typical hamlets and farms. One can also start from the Old Village and enjoy the local lifestyle in the marvelous Grand-Bornand landscapes.
