If you’re looking for top-notch skiing at a breathtaking location, look no further than Alpine Meadows Ski Area. Located in the Tahoe National Forest on the lake’s north shore, the Alpine Meadows Ski Resort features some 2,400 acres of great ski slopes. With an annual snowfall average of 495 inches and over 100 snow runs, the Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is a great winter vacation spot.

The resort has approximately 25 novice runs, 40 intermediate runs and 35 expert runs, so you can enjoy the slopes regardless of what level skier you are. The resort also features 11 ski lifts for the general public to help you get to the top of your slope with the greatest ease possible. Expert ski and snowboard instruction is available for both beginners and for more advanced skiers wanting to improve on their existing skills. There are also a number of special interest clinics where you can learn more about mogul, freestyle, snowboard, telemark and powder skiing. The resort is fully established and caters to adults and children, sporting and non-sporting people and nature lovers. Its summit elevation is about 8637 ft and the resort features an 1800 ft drop.

Dining options include the Meadows Cafe at the resort, as well as a number of restaurants in Tahoe City, Squaw Valley, Donner Pass or Truckee. For skiing equipment, Estelle Sports is well stocked and you will find anything you could possibly imagine needing whilst enjoying the snow of Alpine Meadows.

Typically the skiing season opens in mid-November and closes near the end of May. Summer activities may include fishing, hiking and other wilderness orientated activities. If flying here from another state or country, you will land at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. From Tahoe City, you head off on Highway 89 for about six miles where you will find signs indicating the direction of the resort. Alpine Meadows Ski Resort is open daily between 8am and 4pm.
