White Pass Ski Area
If you are looking for a great little place to go skiing while in the state of Washington, look no further than White Pass. This mid-sized ski area is located in the absolutely stunning Cascade Mountains. It features great scenery, tons of snowfall and plenty of ski runs. White Pass Ski Area, with it’s focus on family and friends, is a great place to create some of those treasured ski holiday memories.
White Pass Ski Area has 635 acres of skiable land with a 1 500 ft vertical drop. The base camp is situated at an elevation of 4 500 ft and over all the ski area receives about 350 inches of snowfall every winter. The terrain is varied and caters to both skiers and snowboarders, beginners and more advanced skiers. There are currently 32 different trails, 20% of which is graded beginner, 40% are intermediate and the remaining 20% are for advanced skiers. The trails are accessed by five different lifts and they are well marked and easy to find. Snowboarders will find a terrain park complete with half pipe where they can show off for friends and family members. White Pass also has one of the best-maintained cross-country areas in this part of the country. The trail is approximately 18 kilometres in length and it circles a lake before heading up the surrounding mountains into the spectacular Wenatchee National Forest. A number of the runs are lit up at night for a great night-skiing experience.
What’s more, the White Pass Learning Center caters for all ages and abilities. Several Highly-trained instructors have come on board and will help you to start from scratch or even to soar to new heights. There are women’s programs, children’s programs, group and private instruction and childcare services. You will also find a great rental shop on the mountain where you can get all the equipment you need.
