Hogadon

Hogadon Ski Area, situated on central Wyoming’s Casper Mountain, is well-known for its diverse terrain, reasonable pass rates and uncrowded slopes. Not far from the town of Casper, Hogadon is a lovely ski area, great for a weekend get away. Opened in 1956, Hogadon Ski Area remains a firm favorite amongst locals.

Hogadon Ski Area is relatively small, taking in 90 acres of ski terrain with a vertical of 600 feet and a summit elevation of 8,000 feet. The varying landscape of Hogadon receives some 140 inches of annual snowfall. Considering the diversity of the terrain, Hogadon is both a challenge to experienced skiers and snowboarders and a delight for those who are just starting out. The area’s 18 trails have been rated as 20% beginner, 40% intermediate and 40% difficult. There are 3 lifts which are able to carry around 2,200 people up the slopes every hour, so you need not be concerned about long queues. Cross-country skiers are not left out of the picture, and can explore 15 miles of well-groomed trails through the forests of the Natrona County Parks Nordic Ski Area, even into the night on the lighted network. A terrain park designed by experts, provides snowboarders with extreme experiences at Hogadon. Even if this is your first time, Hogadon is a great option. The accredited ski school instructors will assist you in mastering the snowy slopes. Try your hand at some snowmobiling on Casper Mountain, or wend your way through forests, across meadows and into canyons.

To enhance your adventure at Hogadon Ski Area a full-service restaurant as well as a snack bar are available to satisfy any grumbling stomachs. Equipment rental and a ski shop are also available. Accommodation is located within the town of Casper, where you can choose lodging to suit your needs and your budget.
