New Mexico’s Sipapu Ski Area, opened in 1952, is a lovely intimate family resort beautifully located amidst the Sangre de Christo Mountains beside the Rio Pueblo. Sipapu Ski Resort covers a varied terrain of 200 acres with a vertical of 1 055 feet. Criss-crossing this gorgeous landscape are 37 trails, the longest measuring 1,33 miles. Picture yourself gliding down the glistening white slopes which receive 190 inches of snow every year along with the added benefits of snowmaking across 140 acres. Sipapu Ski Area will delight skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels. The diverse terrain with its long cruisers, tree skiing and steep runs has been rated as follows: 20% beginner, 40% intermediate, 30% advanced and 10% expert. Young, old, new-comer or seasoned expert, everyone will have a great time at New Mexico’s Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort. Snowboarders can test their skill out at the terrain parks. There are also several trails for cross-country skiers and snowshoeing. Simply climb aboard one of the 4 lifts and you will be quickly transported up into this lovely winter wonderland.
