The vacation ski resorts of Ski Utah will reopen from mid November to early December this year, depending on weather conditions. There are thirteen winter vacation resorts managed by Ski Utah and they promote the state’s legendary ski experience with the byline ‘The greatest snow on Earth’. Rossignol, the winter sports company under the Quiksilver, Inc. umbrella, has entered into a new sponsorship agreement with Ski Utah.

Rossignol is part of the Quiksilver Rossignol group, which was formed through the business integration between Quiksilver, Rossignol and their subsidiaries in 2005. Rossignol have re-located their U.S. headquarters from Vermont to Park City, Utah and the sponsorship is a demonstration of their support for the local snow sports community.

The parent company, Quiksilver Inc., designs, produces and distributes a diversified mix of branded apparel, winter sports and golf equipment, footwear, ski gear and accessories and related products.

Quiksilver Inc. opened its new Mountain Center in Park City in June this year. Park City Mountain Center will house the North American headquarters for Rossignol and also the winter sports merchandising, product line management, sales and marketing, snowboard design, team management and customer service of the company’s existing snow brands, including Quiksilver, Dynastar/Lange, Roxy, DC, Lib Tech and Gnu.

According to the North America President for Rossignol the process of bringing together the various brands, people and functions associated with their mountain and snow business under one roof will foster even greater collaboration and cooperation across the company. Park City was chosen for its close proximity to eight world class resorts. They hope that the increased interaction with the best athletes and trendsetters of winter sports will create unique opportunities in areas of product design and marketing.

Ski Utah and the Utah Ski and Snowboard Association were founded in 1975 with the aim of promoting the ski and snowboard industry in Utah. Ski Utah’s other sponsors include Smith Optics, Hertz, Delta Air Lines, American Express, Coca Cola, Young Chevrolet, Dakine, Eider, Utah Life Elevators, US Burton and Hot Chillys. Rossignol creates the equipment for skiers and riders for Utah’s slopes and therefore it makes perfect sense for the two organizations to collaborate to promote winter sports.
