Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek is a ski area of notable variety. Situated at an elevation of 11 904 ft and enjoying 465 inches of annual snowfall, the mountain was an easy choice for the development of a great ski resort. The ski area features deep snow, chutes and ridges all above the timberline, after which the slopes descend into a pristine pine forest. Wolf Creek has a 1 604 ft vertical drop.

Wolf Creek features 77 ski runs in a 1 600-acre area. The area is situated between Horseshoe Bowl and Water Fall and is known as the Alberta Lift area. It is here that you will find challenging expert-graded runs as well as groomed intermediate trails. In fact, 20% of the trails are graded beginner, 35% are intermediate, 25% are advanced and 20% are for expert skiers. The trails are easily accessed by the seven available ski lifts. There is also 10 km of cross-country skiing terrain and there are a number of great snowshoe trails to enjoy.

The resort does not market itself as a strictly family orientated resort but it does cater reasonably well to the demands of families with children‘s programs and women’s programs being available. There are also a number of private and group lesson options available for all levels of skiers and boarders. Food can be found at the Wolf Creek Lodge, The Prospector, Base Camp and the Pathfinder Bar.

So if you’re looking for great powder, lovely scenery and brilliant ski trails, why not try Wolf Creek Ski Area? Just a short trip from Denver, Colorado, will take you to this great ski resort.
