Telluride Ski Resort’s terrain is naturally divided into areas for skiers of various abilities and is categorized as follows: 24% beginner, 38% intermediate and 38% expert. The longest run at Telluride measures 4,6 miles. Sixteen ski lifts, including 2 high-speed gondolas transport people high-up into the winter playground. The main gondola runs from town, to the Mountain village and up the slopes. Getting around couldn’t be easier. Those who are just starting out will benefit greatly by the Telluride Ski & Snowboard School which makes use of up-to-date teaching methods. Three terrain parks provide the young-at-heart with hours of entertainment. Air Garden Expert Terrain Park is well-designed with boxes, rails, jumps and an 18 foot quarter pipe – strictly for the expert rider. Butterfly Intermediate Terrain Park and UTE Park Beginner Terrain Park are less hectic but have some great features. TopAten Nordic and Snowshoe area covers 10 km of trails across alpine forest and lovely meadows. Other great outdoor winter activities to be enjoyed at Telluride include snowmobiling, ice skating, dog sledding, hiking, back-country skiing, mountaineering, rock climbing, horseback riding and glider rides. Thrill Hill is great fun for the entire family to play around on the tubes.
