Arapahoe Basin ski area, located just 6 miles from Keystone in Colorado, is amongst the first skiing locations in the state, having opened in 1948. Through the years Arapahoe Basin has been modernized and improved, but the skiing is just as amazing as it has always been. During ski season at Arapahoe Basin ski area, some 250 000 skiers and snowboarders flock to the sparkling white slopes. With 67 ski trails taking in 490 acres of ski area and a vertical of 2 270 feet, Arapahoe Basin is renowned for its diverse landscape and beautiful scenery. Arapahoe offers ski terrain for all levels and is divided into the following categories: 15% beginner, 45% intermediate, 20% advanced and 20% expert. Six ski lifts will transport you up the slopes so that you can begin your adventure. The East Wall of Arapahoe Basin features steep terrain, some of which is untouched. Beyond this is even more snowy landscapes, ideal for expert back-country skiers. The West Wall is well-known for its spectacular cornice vista. Palavicinni run is the best-known run in the state of Colorado. Steep and long, Palavicinni is the ultimate challenge. Those who are just starting out need not feel intimidated, the Molly Hogan Learning Center will assist you to quickly master the slopes. Snowboarders will have a great time at the Mutha Hucker terrain park, North America’s highest park. With rails and boxes, the young-at-heart can enjoy the park right into summer months.

Arapahoe Basin ski area offers far more than exceptional skiing, there are also many services and apres-ski. Useful services include a retail store, equipment rental, a cafeteria, a bar and other dining options at the day lodge. Events are often organized including a pseudo-beach party and free concerts. Accommodation is not available at the Arapahoe Basin, but lodging can be found at Keystone Resort, just 5 miles away. Other nearby towns offer a variety of accommodation.
