Durango Mountain

Located in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, the Durango Mountain Resort features a rich blend of great terrain and stunning views. The resort gets an average of 260 inches of snow every year; the majority of which falls overnight. This leaves the next day with lovely, clear-blue skies and great skiing conditions.

Durango Mountain Resort caters for a variety of skiers and boarders. It caters to all levels of skier and has children’s programs, woman’s programs, childcare and competent ski instructors. If you’re not out enjoying one of the 85 great trails, you might try your skills at one of the two great terrain parks or the 400 ft half-pipe. The trails are graded: 23% beginner, 51% intermediate and 26% advanced. This means that the majority of the resort is dedicated to intermediate skiers, but does not mean that it is limited to them. There are also 11 ski lifts to help get you to the top of the trails quickly and easily.

Perhaps one of the most entertaining aspects of the resort is that its trails sport creative and descriptive names. For example you might try Pandemonium, Cartharsis, Demon and Divinity – all names inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. Or you might try the Dead Spike, Peace and Sally’s run on the other side of the mountain. The resort features a vertical drop of 2 029 from a summit elevation of 10 822 ft.

Apart from skiing and snowboarding, you can enjoy sightseeing, shopping and dining at one of the fabulous restaurants available. For something a bit more adventurous, you might try the winter train ride, the dinner sleigh ride, snowcat skiing, snobmobile tours, snowshoeing, casino gambling, snow tubing and cross-country skiing. Summer activities include the Alpine Slide, a scenic chair lift, wall climbing, golfing, disc golfing, miniature golf, hiking with llamas, therapeutic massage, fly fishing, whitewater rafting and horseback riding.

Durango Mountain Resort is open for winter sports between November and April but you can enjoy the luxuries of the resort for the entire year. Why not book now and save money, making your vacation just that much more enjoyable.
