Sunlight Mountain Resort, just above Glenwood Springs in Colorado’s Elk Moutains, is a down-to-earth family resort. Sunlight Mountain Resort’s 470 acres encompass a ski area suitable for all levels of skiers up to extreme black diamonds. With a vertical of 2 010 feet, the terrain is categorized as such: 20% beginner, 55% intermediate, 20% advanced and 5% expert, with the longest run measuring in at an impressive 2,5 miles. Four lifts are able to carry 3 531 eager skiers up the glistening mountainside every hour. Interestingly, Sunlight Mountain is known to have the steepest run in Colorado. The 67 runs of Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort not only offer excellent skiing but also incomparable views of the snow shrouded landscape. Those who are trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time will find the resort’s ski school a real help as professional instructors assist them to master their moves. A 10 km network of trails is available for Nordic skiers and snowshoers alike. These lovely trails take snow sport enthusiasts through the quiet White River National Forest. Those who are keen on snowmobiling, will be delighted with the Sunlight Powderhorn Trail network, covering over 104 miles. Snowboarders will thoroughly enjoy the terrain parks with its great jumps, rails, quarterpipe and boxes.
