Team Europe Wins Swatch Skiers Cup
The first ever Swatch Skiers Cup freeski competition was held in Chile, with Team Europe beating Team Americas 14-10 on 12 September 2011. Even though Team Americas’ freestylers were thought to be ones who would take home the title, Kaj Zackrisson and his team showed everyone what they’re made of.

Freestyle for Canada Winter Games
Canada is already gearing up for the 2015 Canada Winter Games, and they have made an announcement that Freestyle skiing will be making a huge impact on the coming games. Freestyle skiing skyrocketed to popularity during the 1960’s and was then referred to as Hot-Dogging. For years this style was considered to be reckless and dangerous, but in 1979, it was recognized as a sport by the International Ski Federation. To make the sport safer, especially for competitions, jumping techniques and regulations were introduced, and today the breathtaking aerial maneuvers of varying technical difficulty still leave spectators speechless.
Alex Bilodeau takes top honors
Mogul skiing has been around for many years. It is a form of skiing that tests the skills of athletes and their abilities. This form of skiing falls under freestyle skiing, and requires athletes to move through various moguls that are on the slopes. Moguls can best be described as bumps that are formed on the slope and forces skiers to execute sharp turns and technical moves to avoid them. Some are formed naturally, while others can be formed and grow bigger as one skier after the next follows the same path.
