If you enjoy classic skiing and are looking for a great challenge, why not head out to Teton Valley for the Teton Ridge Classic? This great long distance classic race will take you through meadows, Lodgepole and Aspen forests and skirt along the valley, exposing you to a variety of seldom-used trails and breathtaking views.

The fun will start on Saturday 12 January 2008 at the Teton Ridge Ranch. Those wishing to take part in the race will be able to pick up a race packet from the Teton Mountain View Lodge between 17:30 and 19:30 the day before the race, and between 8:00 and 9:15 on the day of the race. The race is divided into three different lengths: a 5 km race, a 14 km race and a 28 km race for the veterans. The trails for all three races wind around the massive expanse of land that belongs to the privately owned Teton Ridge Ranch. The ranch grooms approximately 30 kilometers of trails every winter, and the landscape provides the perfect terrain for classic skiing. While taking part in the race will involve a bit of climbing, there is only 900 feet of climbing for every 14 km loop and all 14 kilometers of that loop are completely skiable so participants won’t have to stop and walk along the way.

Refreshments will also be provided by two feed stations. These will be positioned at 3 kilometers and 11 kilometers along the way. The skiing race will be divided up into different age categories and the short 5 km race also caters to children. There is a post race lunch and the prizes will be awarded at noon. Registration for this great event opened in December with a discount in entrance fee being offered on early entries. If you haven’t already entered, you best do so as soon as possible to avoid further increases in price. And please note that there will be no registration for the race on the day of the event!

The breathtaking Teton Ridge Ranch is situated just 10 miles northeast of Driggs in Idaho. So book your spot in this great race and bring the family along as soon as you can. The Teton Ridge Classic promises to be a great classic skiing race.
