Obergurgl – The Perfect Family Vacation Destination
The picturesque town of Obergurgl is, at a height of 1930 meters, the highest resort town in Austria. It was put into the spotlight in the year 1931, during the balloon flight of Auguste Piccard, but with a permanent population of approximately four hundred residents, Obergurgl is mostly a town that welcomes foreign visitors and skiing enthusiasts to its slopes. Over and above magnificent slopes, guaranteed snow and spectacular views, the village is also famous for the Scheiber family’s horse breeding operation that is a centre for Haflinger horses.
