When looking at skiing resorts and when trying to find the perfect location in regard to difficulty and family attractions, there are a few that have become favorites in the skiing community and are recommended.
One of the most well-known resorts in Canada is the Whistler Blackcomb, as it is home to approximately three thousand three hundred hectares of skiable terrain, offers glacier skiing, open bowls, thirty eight lifts and is able to accommodate a high volume of skiers. Not to mention being the host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. For family holidays, there are two resorts that have become first choice, namely the Silver Star Resort and Big White. With an intermediate terrain, ski school, terrain park and tube park, parents can enjoy their holiday on the slopes while their children find their natural ability for either skiing or snowboarding under professional supervision.
Fernie on the other hand is known to receive the best snowfall in Canada and also has challenging bowls and slopes. Advanced skiing and snowboarding athletes usually head to Kicking Horse Resort for its extreme runs, adrenalin inducing verticals and expert chutes. Many locals prefer Castle Mountain, and most visitors are not aware of this wonderful resort that is said to have Canada’s longest fall line. There is however a new development in the world of skiing in Canada, the Revelstoke Resort. This resort is being developed at present and will be able to welcome only advanced skiers at first, but the second phase of development will be looking to create an area for beginners and intermediates. Excitement over the new resort is building and skiers are advised to take a look at this resort once it is completed. Canada offers such a wide variety of activities and resorts; it is hard to overlook this magnificent skiing destination.
