Opened in 1959, Homewood Mountain Resort is situated on the western shore of Lake Tahoe, only 6 miles from Tahoe City. With stunning views, outstanding ski slopes, activities galore and a ski school, Lake Tahoe’s Homewood Mountain Resort is an amazing destination.

Homewood Mountain Resort boasts some 56 trails covering 1260 acres of skiing area. The vertical rise reaches 1630 feet and the terrain is categorized as follows: 15% beginner, 50% intermediate and 35% advanced. Four double chair lifts and 4 surface lifts carry people to many starting points on the sparkling slopes. Picture yourself hopping off one of the chairlifts, looking out over the blue waters of Lake Tahoe, slowly pushing off and gaining momentum as you glide swiftly down the bright white slopes. Skiers and snowboarders will find Homewood Mountain Resort at Lake Tahoe an exciting experience.

Excellent facilities are available at Homewood including equipment rental, equipment repair, skiing/snowboarding schools, a Children’s Center, day lodges, a bar, a restaurant and the Homewood’s Snowstars program for children between 4 and 10 years.

Overnight lodging is not available at Homewood Mountain Resort. However, there are many hotels, inns, guest houses and so forth nearby the ski area. Finding a delicious meal is also no difficulty with an abundance of restaurants in at Lake Tahoe’s western shore. Some popular restaurants include Angela’s Pizzeria, Firesign Cafe, Black Bear Tavern, Pisano’s Pizza, Sunnyside Resort, Old Tahoe Cafe and Swiss Lakewood.

Of course, the good-times don’t end when summer starts. Great summer activities to be enjoyed include paintball, mountain biking, art exhibitions, live music performances, farmers’ markets, craft fairs and the Cyber Cafe at Hungry Bear.
