Pebble Creek

Springing to life in the late 1940s, Pebble Creek Ski Area has earned a reputation for superior slopes. Traditionally the east side of Mount Bonneville earned a reputation as one of the most challenging slopes in the state, and while Mount Bonneville still offers her tempting steep slopes to those up to the challenge, the ski area now enjoys a more friendly face. It now offers beginner and intermediate trails in addition to the more traditional advanced trails that helped carve the resort’s reputation.

Pebble Creek is located just south of Pocatello, set in the natural beauty of the Caribou National Forest. It has 54 great runs spread out over 1,100 acres which are accessed by three ski lifts. The runs are graded: 12% beginner, 35% intermediate, 53% advanced. Pebble Creek also sees constant maintenance and upgrading in the form of terrain resurfacing, lift maintenance and snow-making upgrades, amongst other things. The resort also offers night skiing and snowboarding and has a terrain park complete with half pipe.

One of the best features of the resort has to be the PSIA/AASI Member Ski and Snowboard School. This means you can enjoy group programs or private lessons for various skill levels in either sport under the expert guidance of one of the 40 members belonging to the association.

After spending a day out on the mountain’s 8560 ft high summit enjoying a 2200 ft vertical drop, you’ll likely have quite an appetite. The lodge has scrumptious cafeteria-style dining and freshly-baked goods. For a larger variety you can travel the short distance to Pocatello where quite a number of fine restaurants can be found. After your meal you may well enjoy relaxing in the Lava Hot Springs before making your way to your hotel. Pocatello also has a variety of great hotels if you were unable to get accommodation in one of the many lodges available.

The Pebble Creek Ski Area is open between December and April. Book now to enjoy this great ski resort!
