Lookout Pass, located near the the lovely town of Wallace, Idaho, is a popular ski area amongst both locals and outside visitors. Beautifully and conveniently located, Lookout Pass has been attracting skiers to its slopes since 1936. Boasting 444 acres of snowy ski area and a vertical of 1,150, Lookout Pass’ 23 runs offer something for everyone. The terrain is categorized according to ability levels as follows: 20% beginner, 40% intermediate, 30% advanced and 10% expert. With an average snowfall of 400 feet, visitors are guaranteed all the snowy slopes they could dream of. A total of 3 lifts are available to transport snow sport enthusiasts up the white slopes, but the queues are never long. Since its beginning, 60 years back, Lookout Pass has been running a Free Ski School aimed at children. Many a child has had hours of fun under the guidance of Lookout Pass’ qualified instructors. Cross-country skiing is not to be missed at Lookout Pass, and there are the absolutely awesome terrain parks with an abundance of rails, tabletops, jumps and the impressive 1,111 foot quarter pipe.

Beyond the incomparable skiing, Lookout Pass offers top-notch services and facilities. The new lodge has opened up more dining area, a retail store, the Loft Pub & Grub sports bar as well as additional lockers and restrooms. The Visitor center at Lookout Pass caters for tourists from Idaho and Montana, providing them with any information they may need. Summit House Cafes offers visitors a selection of tasty treats to quell their hunger. A designated RV parking area is available for those who wish to stay overnight. Alternatively, lodging can be found in the form of hotels, guest houses and so forth in the surrounding area. Many visitors opt to stay in the nearby town of Wallace at accommodations such as Lydia’s Hideaway, The Brooks Hotel, The Stardust Motel, Beale House Bed & Breakfast, The Molly B’Damm Motel and others.
