Loup Loup

The Loup Loup Ski Bowl is one of the better micro-resorts in Washington. Featuring a variety of snow-based activities, a great small-town atmosphere and a wonderful, caring environment, the Loup Loup Ski Bowl is everything you need from a ski area in one small, neat package.

With a summit elevation of 5280 ft and a 1240 ft vertical drop, Loup Loup has ample snowfall and great terrain. You’ll find ten different trails spread out over 550 acres catering for every level of skier. The trails are graded 20% beginner, 30% intermediate, 40% advanced and 10% expert. Snowboarding is allowed on most of the trails and there is a half-pipe for those who want to try a few stunts. The hill is serviced by three lifts for easy access to the trails. The runs are groomed every night and you will find a lot of great off-piste adventure in the vicinity of the major runs. If you enjoy cross-country skiing, you’ll revel in 25 kilometres of great groomed trails on this mountain. If you get bored with the trails, you will discover that there are an additional 50 kilometres to explore, only five minutes from the resort. Other activities include tubing and night skiing.

The ski bowl, which is situated roughly 30 minutes from Methow Valley, is open at various times between November and April each year. Loup Loup provides security, exclusivity and great skiing conditions for individuals or whole families. Beginners will find gentle slopes and a fully certified ski school which provides downhill skiing, snowboarding and cross-country instruction. They also rent out equipment for both children and adults. Refreshment can be found at the day lodge’s cafeteria, which is a great place to relax after a day on the slopes.

So why not try the Loup Loup Ski Bowl the next time you’re in the area? It’s a far-cry from the bustling mega-slopes of other resorts but this only adds to its charm and appeal. Loup Loup is a great way to get away from it all – even if only for a day.
