Berkshire East Ski Area is situated in Massachusetts’ Charlemont. Established by Arthur Parker during the 1950s, Berkshire East has become a popular ski area with both locals and visitors. Adding to the magnificent ski experience is the sheer beauty of the mountain valley. An authentic ski experience without the glamor and expense of luxury ski resorts, Berkshire East Ski Area is a great escape from the rat race.

Berkshire East Ski Area’s season runs from December through to March. During this time eager snow sport enthusiasts flock to the 45 trails which run down the 200 acre ski area. Five ski lifts operate to carry skiers and snowboarders up the snowy vertical of 1,180 feet. Berkshire East’s varied terrain with steep slopes and more novice-friendly sections is rated as follows: 36% beginner, 61% intermediate, 20% advanced and 5% expert. The stunning landscape receives a fair dusting of 120 inches of snow every year. Despite its relatively small size, Berkshire East Ski Area is never overcrowded and you don’t have to wait a long time in queues. Just picture yourself gliding down the sparkling white mountainside, natural beauty all around you – pure magic!

Berkshire East Ski Area has a lovely base lodge which has just recently been expanded. Massive windows provide exquisite views of the picture-perfect landscape. From this base lodge you will be able to book in at the Ski and Snowboard School. Excellent instructors run a number of programs for people of all age groups and abilities. Another lodge has also been constructed, namely West Lodge. There are food courts at both these lodges where visitors can fill-up on tasty meals. After a day of physical activity you are certain to want to climb into a comfortable bed, and Berkshire has a few on-slope condos. Accommodations can also be found in the vicinity and in Charlemont.
