Just 45 minutes from Boston, Nashoba Valley Ski Area is a great place to learn all about skiing and snowboarding. It boasts one of the best and biggest groups of instructors in the state, excellent trails for all levels and breathtaking scenery. The resort may be somewhat shy of a few acres, but it offers an absolutely fabulous skiing experience and a wonderful introduction to the sport.
Nashoba is situated on a fairly small mountain with a summit elevation of only 440 ft. The lack of elevation and the low snowfall is countered with a 100% snowmaking capability and an expert grooming fleet. The ski area itself is roughly 59 acres in size and it offers seventeen different trails. The trails are graded 20% beginner, 47% intermediate and 33% advanced. There are nine different lifts to help get you to the start of the various trails. There is no terrain park or half pipe but you can try your hand at snow tubing if you’re looking for a fun alternative. You will also find that a number of trails are lighted up at night for skiers and snowboarders.
Families and beginners will find a good assortment of lesson programs and instruction options available. Whether you’re young or old, completely new to the sport or have been skiing for years, you’ll be able to find someone who’ll help you improve your style. It doesn’t matter if you’re a snowboarder or skier – both kinds of instruction are readily available. Nashoba’s capable instructors will have you gliding down the 240 ft vertical drop in no time!
And when that appetite can be suppressed no more, you can head to the Outlook Restaurant for a tasty meal. They serve light snacks or luxurious meals all cooked to perfection – the perfect end to a superb day of skiing.
In summer the camp becomes a perfect summer vacation destination. It offers activities such as archery, basketball, canoeing, tennis, drama, fishing, soccer, swimming, nature walks, volleyball, street hockey, and zipline, and because it has a slightly lower elevation than many of its counterparts, the weather is somewhat more moderate and enjoyable.
