Brian Head

Located in southern Utah and rated as one of the country’s best children and beginner resorts, Brian Head Resort is a great place to go this winter. It is not far from either Las Vegas or Utah’s national park which means you can combine the fun of skiing with several other of life’s pleasures all in the same trip. What’s more, Brian Head Resort has a base elevation of 9600 feet which allows it to receive more than 400 inches of snow annually, so there’s no shortage of great powder here!

Spread out over 540 acres of skiable land, Brian Head is not the biggest resort available. However, its facilities are top notch and if you’re a beginner or you have a child learning to ski, it is the best place to go. The resort has a great ski-board school, a variety of children’s programs, a state-licensed day care facility and an entire mountain suited just to beginner and children skiers. Of its 53 trails available, 35% are rated beginner, 40% are graded intermediate and 25% are more advanced. So not only do the slopes cater for beginners, but they have ample trails for the more advanced skiers to enjoy too. Eight ski lifts service the area.

Freestylers will have a blast since the resort caters to all skill levels with three terrain parks, over 25 rails, boxes and snowboarding features and one halfpipe. Other activities which can be enjoyed at Brian Head Resort include snowshoe trails, snowcat rides, cross-country skiing, tubing, horse sleigh rides, shopping and soothing spa treatments. In summer you can participate in mountain biking, hiking, scenic chairlift rides, disc golf and horseback riding in this great wilderness area.

In between skiing, visitors to the lodge can visit the rental or retail shops or simply sit down to a great meal. There are a variety of dining options available such as the Cedar Breaks Lodge & Spa Restaurant, Lift House Restaurant, Giant Steps & Navajo Lodge Grills, Pizano’s Pizzeria, Rusty’s Ranch House and Milt’s Stage Stop. There is also plenty of lodging available and you will certainly find something to suit your budget.

So visit Brian Head Resort this winter and enjoy this great resort with your family. The resort is open for skiing between November and April but you can visit at any time. The choice is yours.
